How to use this site

Our world is the most interconnected it has ever been, and yet can feel more polarized than ever. We are all different, and yet the same. I've learned this at dinner parties with German friends, sharing tea in a Bedouin camp in the Jordanian desert, enjoying lunch with a local family in Azerbaijan, and more. In my opinion, it is not only fascinating, but immensely important to attempt to understand and appreciate different people, cultures, and points of view.

As a nod to my passion for truly discovering and understanding the different cultures in which I am immersing myself in, I've created this blog for the adventurous, curious, and busy! If you are ready to explore the world – I've done your homework for you. I am writing the blogs that I wish I had had when planning my trips. I want this to be a one-stop-shop location to answer all of your questions about the practical realities and details of planning your trip.

For each location, I start with a background on the location and my thoughts on the culture and language. Then, I provide both an overview and deep dive of my thoughts on different features of the location like safety, affordability, and ease of access. I also provide logistical information before going into my trip play-by-play. At the bottom, I lay out a concise snapshot of the itinerary along with where to buy any tickets needed for tourist locations. I also provide a rough budget. I end each post with interesting things I've learned and additional tips, extra recommendations, and questions that I asked myself along the way.

Join me in exploring the endless beauty that this world has to offer!

How did I choose the languages on the home page?

The languages on the home page are: English, Spanish, German, Arabic, Georgian, and Korean. All are languages that I have studied and are important to me. Each time I learn a new language I feel like I unlock a new world. A new culture. Millions of new people to connect with and understand. Every time I travel somewhere new I make the commitment to learn at least the basics of the local language. Nothing has impacted my experiences abroad more than being able to say something as simple as "hello" in the local language.

I encourage you to do the same ☺️
